Storyline

A policeman alerted the drivers and pedestrians when he detected a major cave-in at a crossroad in the city of Hangzhou in east China's Zhejiang Province on Thursday.

The accident happened at about 16:18 on the afternoon of April 21 at a crossroad in the downtown area where the traffic has been heavy most of the day.

The two-meter deep crack did not cause any damage and casualties.

As a surveillance video showed, the traffic police detected a long crack on the road surface, then the road collapsed, leaving a pit more than two meters deep. He immediately put up warning cones and diverted the traffic to pass round.
