China's largest carrier rocket Long March-5 was transported to the launch site on Hainan Island on Friday for its maiden flight scheduled for November.
The carrier rocket was safely moved from the testing plant to the launch site at the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center in south China’s Hainan Province. Since it arrived at the center in September, Long March-5 has completed all the assembling and testing work as planned.
The rocket will be further examined and tested. After confirming its conditions, propellant will be injected into the rocket and the launch mission will be conducted as scheduled.
Long March-5 has the largest carrying capacity among China's carrier rockets. The diameter of its main fuselage measures five meters across. The rocket uses liquefied kerosene and very low-temperature or cryogenic liquefied oxygen and hydrogen as its fuels, which are non-toxic and pollution-free. It's highly credible operation system marks a milestone in the upgrading of China's carrier rockets.
The launch site system as well as telemetry and communication system at the launch center have are ready for the launch mission.
