China has recently wrapped up the whole development and trail flight of an unmanned large helicopter, a helicopter which adopts China-made key components such as power system.

The helicopter, namely Xiangying-200 and developed by a research group led by staff from Shenyang Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences in northeast China's Liaoning Province, is 8.7 meters long, 2.5 meters high with an effective load of 200 kilograms.

"The key components of Xiangying-200 unmanned helicopter are all domestically made. For example, its flight control system was independently researched and developed by our team and therefore we have proprietary intellectual property rights. And the dynamical system, protective material as well as light materials all used the latest technical products developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences," said Gu Feng, associate research fellow of Shenyang Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The type of unmanned helicopter has a broad application prospect in emergency rescue, public safety as well as law enforcement.
