A child in northwest China fell from the window of his 5th-floor apartment, but was saved by a man, who got out of his car beside the building in time to cushion the fall on Thursday.
The heart-stopping incident took place on Thursday evening in Yining, a city in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region when a two-year-and-seven-month child climbed on and fell from a window on the fifth floor. The 28-year-old resident Tonik Turghanbek was parking his car beside the apartment building when he noticed the child at the fifth-floor window.
Security camera footage show Turghanbek gets out of his car and stretches his arms in a bid to catch the falling child, before being struck down to the ground by the child who falls on his body.
"The moment I saw it, he was already falling. I thought of nothing at the moment, and then I caught him. I don't know what happened after that, as I fainted for a while. When I woke up, police and rescuers were all here," recalled Turghanbek.
The child was sent to a local hospital for a health check and was found that he did not suffer any serious injuries, but Turghanbek had some scratches and abrasion on his head and arms.
"After the health check, we found the child safe and sound. He can walk and call his grandma. I was really happy and the child faced no life threat," said Serq Buranbe, a doctor from the Friendship Hospital of Yili Prefecture.
A witness said that there were many elderly people walking outside the building when they noticed the child on the fifth-floor window. The child fell before they could call for help, and Turghanbek saved a life while risking his own.

The brave young man won a lot thumbs up for his courage and kindness.
