A potential meterolite hit the border of northeast China's Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province, possibly near Jilin's Songyuan City, at 00:16 on Friday.
The footage captured by surveillance cameras in Songyuan showed that the suspected meteorite suddenly lit up the sky.
The shocking moment was also witnessed and recorded by many residents in northeast China.
So far, no report on the discovery of the meteorite has been filed in the Songyuan area.
Now, research on related videos are underway by experts from the Purple Mountain Observer of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
