"Since I got to know you in person during my visit to Germany in 2009, we have had in-depth exchanges on bilateral relations, major international and regional issues and experiences in governance. Together, we have pushed forward bilateral relations and promoted China-Germany cooperation in addressing global challenges. You have quite a profound understanding of China-Germany relations, bilateral cooperation, and some realities in China. I can feel your interest in China - you always chose different places to visit and you even showed interest in Malatang [spicy hot pot] of Sichuan. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Germany. We sincerely wish all these could sustain."
