The "Experience Beijing" national ice hockey test event started on Monday at the Wukesong Sports Center in the Chinese capital city, in the run-up to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games scheduled for February.

About 80 athletes from four domestic teams will compete at the three-day test event. In addition, another 39 foreign experts will take part in the test event.

It is the last event taking place in western Beijing's Haidian District - one of the venues for the Winter Olympics - before the Games opens.

Before the start of the test event, lights in the gymnasium at the center were turned on with advanced 3D technology, putting up a marvelous light show.

The Wukesong Sports Center is one of the Winter Olympic venues that are backed by advanced technologies. It is capable of making live VR broadcasting and providing multi-dimensional sports-watching experience, which will be available during the upcoming Olympiad.
