Yemen's Houthi militia held a military parade in capital city Sanaa on Thursday to mark the 9th anniversary of their takeover of the city, shortly after a round of peace talks with Saudi Arabia.
The parade featured a procession of armored vehicles, missiles, and uniformed fighters, who marched past Houthi dignitaries.
The event followed a Houthi delegation's recent visit to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, for talks aimed at bringing an end to the devastating conflict that has engulfed the Arabian Peninsula's most impoverished nation.
The negotiations were later described as "positive" but were ultimately inconclusive.
In a statement marking the parade, the Houthis declared their commitment to enhancing combat readiness in the coming weeks and months.
Yemen has been mired in a civil war since late 2014, when the Iran-backed Houthi militia seized control of Sanaa and forced the Saudi-backed Yemeni government into exile. The war has caused a humanitarian crisis, with over 377,000 Yemenis killed and millions displaced and facing hunger and disease.
