The Shenzhou-17 trio, as the youngest lineup since the construction of China's Tiangong space station started, is in good conditions and has performed well since they entered the space station over three weeks ago.
Tang Hongbo, born in 1975, is the mission commander and a veteran astronaut first launched into orbit on the Shenzhou-12 mission in June 2021. Tang Shengjie, born in 1989, is a new face and also the youngest astronaut to enter China's space station. Jiang Xinlin, born in 1988, is also a newcomer to space.
They soon completed work handover with their predecessors and learned much working and living experience from the Shenzhou-16 crew to adapt to space life.
Their daily work includes moving equipment out of the space station for space experiments, managing equipment and facilities, and maintaining experiment facilities for long term science researches.
In addition to performing their professional duties, the trio has also conducted medical care skill training in orbit to enhance their physical fitness and meet the demanding challenges of space.
To add a creative touch to their routine, they have embraced the role of photographers, capturing breathtaking images that showcase the wonders of space.
They will soon conduct their first extravehicular activity.
China on Oct. 26 launched the Shenzhou-17 manned spaceship, and the three astronauts aboard will stay in orbit for about six months on a space station mission.
