"For this exercise we mainly targeted landing ships' key training subjects including live-fire shooting, damage control, and shore wading. Through continuous and non-stop training at sea, we aim to continuously improve the basic training level and core combat capabilities of the crew."

A formation of the Chinese Navy including multiple landing ships conducted all-weather multi-subject actual combat drill in the South China Sea recently.
In the drill, the ships underwent anti-drone exercises, driving the enemy drone away with suppressive fire, and quickly switching position under the cover of smoke released from one of the ships.
"We had little response time in this shooting and it was difficult to lock on the target. Therefore, we had to constantly adjust the shooting angle according to the actual situation to ensure successful completion of this mission," said Zhang Jianbin, an officer of tank landing ship Danxiashan.
The crew of the Danxiashan also ran a mocked fire exercise to test its damage control capabilities.
"For this exercise we mainly targeted landing ships' key training subjects including live-fire shooting, damage control, and shore wading. Through continuous and non-stop training at sea, we aim to continuously improve the basic training level and core combat capabilities of the crew," said Chen Tailai, an officer of the Danxiashan.
