3. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Lin Jian, spokesman, Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"This so-called alliance has always maliciously hyped up issues related to China, spreading lies and rumors about China, and has no credibility whatsoever. There is only one China in the world. Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. The Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair that brooks no interference by any external forces. China firmly opposes any form of official interaction between the Taiwan authorities and countries that have diplomatic relations with China. We urge the relevant parliamentarians to abandon ideological prejudice, stop using the Taiwan question to interfere in China's internal affairs, and do more to contribute to bilateral relations rather than the opposite."
