Storyline


The Shenzhou-18 crew members on board China's space station conveyed their wishes for prosperity for both their motherland and the nation's space industry on Tuesday in heartfelt messages celebrating China's National Day.

The crew members Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu have stayed in space for more than five months and are scheduled to return to Earth later this month.

"I feel very happy. We have worked in space for more than five months, and I would like to extend my gratitude to the sci-tech workers who have been sticking to their posts day and night. Because of your work and guard, we can work and live on the space station securely and at ease," said Li Guangsu, a Shenzhou-18 crew member.

"I feel very lucky, as we are living in a great new era. It's our mission and responsibility to carry out the task for our motherland to realize the space dream. We will live up to the trust of the motherland and the people, and complete the task successfully and efficiently," said Li Cong, another Shenzhou-18 crew member.

"I feel very proud. China's space station represents the achievement of the continuous efforts made by several generations of space professionals and China's strategic emerging industries. It is also an epitome of China's modernization achievements and fully demonstrates China's strength in the new era. Thumbs up for China's booming space industry in the new era!" said Ye Guangfu, Shenzhou-18 mission commander.

China launched the Shenzhou-18 manned spaceship on April 25, sending the three astronauts to its space station for a six-month mission.
