Palestinian authorities on Wednesday rejected any Israeli plans to establish buffer zones with long-term Israeli military presence in the northern Gaza Strip, the Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, official spokesman for the Palestinian presidency, said in a statement carried by WAFA that the talk about the so-called establishment of a buffer zone in northern Gaza Strip and Jabalia with long-term Israeli military presence was completely unacceptable and is therefore rejected.

Abu Rudeineh considered the plan to be in violation of all international legitimacy resolutions and international law that consider the Gaza Strip an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory.

On Oct 5, the Israeli army began intense bombardment of areas in the northern Gaza Strip, before launching a large-scale military operation there, especially Jabalia. The Israeli army says its operation in Jabalia and its surroundings aims to prevent Hamas fighters from regrouping to launch more attacks, and create conditions for its plan of building the buffer zone to "distribute aid through a private American company and with foreign funding".

However, the Palestinian spokesman said that any plans related to the future of the Gaza Strip or the distribution of aid can only be done through the State of Palestine and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), as well as other relevant international organizations.

The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since October last year has risen to 43,985, Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Wednesday.

رفضت السلطة الفلسطينية، يوم الأربعاء/ 20 نوفمبر الجاري، أي خطط إسرائيلية لإقامة منطقة عازلة مع تواجد عسكري إسرائيلي طويل الأمد في شمال قطاع غزة، حسبما ذكرت وكالة الأنباء الفلسطينية الرسمية "وفا".

وأكد الناطق الرسمي باسم الرئاسة الفلسطينية نبيل أبو ردينة، في بيان نقلته وكالة الأنباء الفلسطينية "وفا"، أن الحديث عن إقامة ما يسمى منطقة عازلة في شمال قطاع غزة وجباليا مع تواجد عسكري إسرائيلي طويل الأمد أمر غير مقبول على الإطلاق، وبالتالي فهو مرفوض.

واعتبر أبو ردينة أن هذه الخطة تتعارض مع كافة قرارات الشرعية الدولية والقانون الدولي التي تعتبر قطاع غزة جزءاً لا يتجزأ من الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة.

في الخامس من أكتوبر الماضي، أطلق الجيش الإسرائيلي قصفاً مكثفاً لمناطق في شمال قطاع غزة، قبل أن يشنّ عملية عسكرية واسعة النطاق هناك، وخاصة جباليا. وقال الجيش الإسرائيلي إن عملياته في جباليا ومحيطها تهدف إلى منع مقاتلي حماس من إعادة تجميع صفوفهم لشن المزيد من الهجمات، وتهيئة الظروف لخطته لبناء المنطقة العازلة لتوزيع المساعدات عبر شركة أمن أمريكية خاصة بتمويل أجنبي.

وردًا على ذلك، قال أبو ردينة إن أي خطط تتعلق بمستقبل قطاع غزة أو توزيع المساعدات لا يمكن أن تتم إلا من خلال دولة فلسطين ووكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في الشرق الأدنى (الأونروا)، فضلاً عن المنظمات الدولية الأخرى ذات الصلة.

وأعلنت السلطات الصحية في غزة في بيان لها يوم الأربعاء أن حصيلة القتلى الفلسطينيين جراء الهجمات الإسرائيلية المستمرة في قطاع غزة منذ أكتوبر من العام الماضي ارتفعت إلى 43985 شخصا.

Las autoridades palestinas rechazaron el miércoles cualquier plan israelí de establecer una zona de amortiguación con presencia militar israelí a largo plazo en el norte de la Franja de Gaza, informó la agencia de noticias oficial palestina WAFA.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, portavoz oficial de la presidencia palestina, dijo en un comunicado difundido por WAFA que la conversación sobre el llamado establecimiento de una zona de amortiguación en el norte de la Franja de Gaza y Jabalia con presencia militar israelí a largo plazo era completamente inaceptable y, por lo tanto, fue rechazada.

A juicio de Abu Rudeineh, el plan viola todas las resoluciones de legitimidad internacional y el derecho internacional que consideran que la Franja de Gaza es una parte integral del territorio palestino ocupado.

El 5 de octubre, el ejército israelí comenzó un intenso bombardeo contra áreas en el norte de la Franja de Gaza, antes de lanzar una operación militar a gran escala allí, especialmente en Jabalia.
