"I would say that the majority of those killed were children. They were victims early in ages including three, five, seven, and eight. What fault they might have committed to become victims. Two of them were my aunt and her daughter. I can't have any explanation to what happened as they were civilians who had nothing. They were civilians who had been staying safe and suddenly they are gone. Why?"

7. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Samir Nejem, eyewitness:
"An awful scene, indeed. I swear, I have been horrified due to the dismembered body pieces remained and up to this moment. I was collecting those body pieces. The rocket fired seems to be an American rocket. We were able to remove all the bodies including three children who were scattered downstairs along with a fourth child down there. Among them were girls. All of those carried were dismembered body pieces. May God takes care of what happened."

The eyewitness of a recent Israeli bombardment and a relative of a killed family accused Israeli military of creating a horrific scene in a school in Gaza's southern city of Khan Younis Sunday, killing at least 20 Palestinians including children as young as three years old.
According to Palestine News Agency (WAFA), the bombarded school was next to a hospital housing a large number of refugees, and the airstrike caused numerous injuries as well.
The Israeli military said on the same day that it had struck Hamas militants operating from a compound that previously served as a UN-run school. It said the compound served also as a training camp to prepare and plan attacks against Israeli forces.
At the moment when the airstrike took place, dozens of refugees were taking shelter in the school. Sabreen Tafesh, the relative of a killed family, rushed to bombarded site to collect the remains of her loved ones. Still deeply in grieve, she accused the Israeli military of brutally killing innocent civilians even including young children.
