The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 45, 206, with 107,512 others injured, the Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Friday.
On Friday afternoon, Israel bombarded an apartment in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing at least eight Palestinians, according to rescuers.
Later that evening, Israel launched another airstrike on a house in Jabalia in northern Gaza, causing 10 deaths, including seven children, and injuring several others, according to Palestine's official media.
The ongoing conflict has severely deteriorated the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
According to a report by Haaretz -- an Israeli newspaper, Israeli soldiers admitted indiscriminate killing of unarmed Palestinian civilians in the Netzarim Corridor, a narrow strip in central Gaza that connects the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip.
The report said that Israeli soldiers in the Netzarim Corridor have been ordered to shoot anyone approaching the area, and they left bodies to dogs, earning the corridor the title of the "line of dead bodies."
The report quoted an Israeli officer stating that all Palestinians killed in the Netzarim Corridor were considered Hamas members. While the Israeli military claimed 200 militants were killed, only 10 were confirmed as Hamas members.
More appallingly, Israeli troops started the competition among different units to see who could kill the most Palestinians.
Many soldiers blamed a commander of Division 252, Yehuda Vach, for such atrocities. The division was based in Netzarim Corridor. Vach once publicly said that he took all people in Gaza as terrorists. He also arbitrarily changed the location or military zones and ordered to shoot to death those close to the zones.
Some soldiers have sought intervention from higher authorities , but no action has been taken.
The Israeli military denied the allegations, stating that all actions in Gaza are conducted according to plans and orders, as reported by Al Jazeera on Frdiay.
