Storyline

Russia claimed on Thursday that its forces targeted several Ukrainian military airports and key infrastructure over the past 24 hours, while Ukraine reported attacking a Russian fuel depot, triggering a large fire.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a briefing on Thursday that its forces had struck multiple Ukrainian military airports, drone production facilities, and storage warehouses in the past day.

Russian forces also destroyed a key bridge on a Ukrainian supply route to the west of Kurakhove.

The Russian air defense systems downed three French-made Hammer guided bombs, 12 U.S.-made HIMARS rockets and 95 drones.

On the same day, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported 89 combat encounters on the frontlines as of Thursday afternoon. It said that Ukrainian forces had successfully repelled eight Russian offensives in the Kursk region.

Additionally, Ukrainian armed forces launched a strike on a Russian fuel depot in the Voronezh region early in the day, with at least three drones hitting the target and sparking a major fire.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited Ukraine on Thursday, where he signed a 100-year partnership agreement with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, aimed at deepening cooperation across various sectors, including defense.

Starmer stated that the UK would provide Ukraine with a new mobile air defense system tailored to its specific needs.
