Russia claimed that its forces had shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet while Ukraine said it repelled Russian attacks in multiple directions on Thursday, according to their latest updates.

Russia's Defense Ministry stated in its Thursday report that Russian forces struck energy facilities supporting the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, as well as Ukrainian ammunition depots, electronic warfare stations and other targets.

Russian air defense forces downed one Ukrainian MiG-29 jet and intercepted multiple rockets, aerial bombs and over 100 drones, it said.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on the same day that dozens of battles took place on the frontlines throughout the day.

Ukrainian forces successfully thwarted and disrupted Russian offensive plans, repelling multiple Russian attacks in areas such as Kharkiv, Lyman and Russia's Kursk region, it said.
