Russia's Defense Ministry reported advances in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine on Friday, citing strikes on military and industrial targets, while Ukraine's armed forces claimed strikes on Russian sites including outposts and a refinery.
According to Russia's report on Friday, over the past week, Russian forces have utilized precision-guided munitions and drones to launch nine rounds of attacks targeting Ukrainian military enterprises, energy infrastructure, military airfields, fuel depots, and locations housing foreign mercenaries.
Russia has gained control over multiple settlements in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Kursk regions, the report stated.
Additionally, Russian air defense systems claimed to have intercepted a range of Ukrainian aerial threats, including one MiG-29 fighter jet and a series of guided bombs, rockets and over 700 drones.
On the same day, a statement from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces showed that, as of Friday afternoon, frontline areas have seen 60 battles. The statement emphasized that Ukrainian troops continue to hold their ground, halting Russian advances.
Ukraine also claimed that its air force on Thursday launched an attack on a Russian border outpost located in the Bryansk region of Russia, destroying key military infrastructure such as communication systems and satellite equipment.
