The external exchanges of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) converged efforts to overcome challenges and build a community with a shared future for mankind, a spokesperson said on Monday.
Liu Jieyi, spokesman for the third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, made the remarks at a press conference held by the CPPCC National Committee in Beijing one day ahead of its annual session.
"Last year, seven visits to the CPPCC were held, inviting friends from more than 100 countries, including foreign diplomats in China, sinology scholars, business figures from multinational corporations and international business associations, as well as young representatives from Global South countries. They have wide range exchanges of views on Chinese modernization, the key to Chinese governance, high-standard opening up, high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and international trade and economic cooperation as well as international and regional issues. They learned more about the 75 years of the CPPCC and the development of China's democracy, developed deep understanding of the unique strength of whole-process people's democracy," said Liu.

The CPPCC National Committee also hosted the 2024 China Economic and Social Forum, Round-table Meeting of China Economic and Social Council and the Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Africa, and the 19th meeting of the China-EU Round Table, said Liu, noting that these activities attracted more than 150 representatives from over 40 countries. They had in-depth discussions on topics including "promoting an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization" and "promoting global modernization featuring peaceful development, mutually beneficial cooperation and common prosperity," said the spokesman.
CPPCC members of related sectors also visited Asian, African and Latin American countries as well as Europe and the U.S. to have in-depth interactions with local scholars, think tanks, business figures, friendly individuals and overseas Chinese on topics including overseas investment cooperation, green and low-carbon development of agriculture, cooperation in the international pharmaceutical industry, and China's relation with the world, said Liu.
Various events have given opportunities for the CPPCC to know many international friends and boost mutual understanding, thus combining strengths of the world to face challenges, create the future together and join hands in building a community with a shared future for mankind, said the spokesman.
