Russia claimed on Wednesday that its forces had captured one more settlement of Privolnoye in Ukraine's Donetsk region, while Ukraine, on the same day, said it repelled Russian attacks in multiple directions, according to the latest battlefield updates issued by both sides.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, over the past 24 hours, its troops repelled multiple attacks by the Ukrainian army in Kharkov, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and other directions, and launched an offensive, destroying a large number of Ukrainian weapons and equipment, including one tank, some armored vehicles and self-propelled artillery pieces.
In addition, Russian air defense systems also reportedly shot down 51 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and intercepted six Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) bombs, the ministry said.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on the same day that a total of 59 battles had occurred along the frontlines by Wednesday afternoon, during which Ukrainian forces successfully repelled the Russian attacks in multiple directions.
The Ukrainian air force, missile troops and artillery units attacked Russian targets such as personnel, concentration areas of weapons and military equipment, and ammunition depots, with the Ukrainian army continuing its operations in Russia's Kursk region, the Ukrainian side said.
