Russia claimed to have shot down a Ukrainian warplane and dozens of drones, while Ukraine said that its forces had struck Russian oil refineries, according to the latest updates of the two countries.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday that Russian troops had taken control of a settlement in the Donetsk Region over the past day.
Russian forces repelled multiple Ukrainian attacks and launched offensives in Kharkiv, Avdeyevka, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson and other directions, destroying military equipment such as tanks and armored vehicles, the ministry said.
The Russian air defense forces shot down one MiG-29 fighter and dozens of drones of the Ukrainian forces, and intercepted several aerial bombs and rockets, according to the ministry.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's General Staff of the Armed Forces reported on Monday that scores of battles had taken places in the frontline areas as of Monday afternoon.
The Ukrainian troops had warded off several Russian offensives in the direction of Kharkiv, Pokrovsk and Kursk, it said.
The Ukrainian forces also struck oil refinery facilities in Russia's Ryazan and Samara regions on Sunday and Monday, the Ukrainian side said.
