Chinese and Russian naval vessels participating in the "Security Belt-2025" joint exercise departed Iran's Chabahar Port on Thursday, marking a successful conclusion of the trilateral drills designed to strengthen mutual military trust and enhance pragmatic cooperation.
Held in the vicinity of Chabahar Port, the exercise saw the naval forces of China, Iran, and Russia taking turns commanding operations, conducting mixed-fleet training, and carrying out joint missions.
The drills included striking maritime targets, intercepting and inspecting suspicious vessels, damage control, and joint search and rescue missions, further enhancing the participating countries' ability to address various emergencies and maintain maritime security.
On Wednesday evening, the Iranian side hosted a summary meeting and closing ceremony for the exercise, where representatives exchanged insights and shared experiences from participating in the drills.
The exercise served as a platform for enhancing communication and cooperation among the three navies, boosting mutual trust and practical collaboration, and making a positive contribution to regional peace and stability.
When berthing at the Chabahar Port, the guided-missile destroyer Baotou (Hull 133) and the comprehensive supply ship Gaoyouhu (Hull 904) of the 47th Chinese naval escort taskforce received visiting Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani.
The commander toured the vessels, engaged in discussions with Chinese officers and crew members, and left a message of goodwill in the guestbook for the Chinese fleet.
Military attachés from 19 countries, including Russia, Greece, the Netherlands, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Iraq, Serbia, and Slovakia also boarded the Chinese destroyer Baotou for a tour.
In addition, naval personnel from China, Iran, and Russia also participated in beach-based cultural and sports exchange activities during the exercise.
