Storyline

In the first two months of this year, Guangzhou, capital city of south China's economic powerhouse Guangdong Province, saw its foreign trade grow 14.3 percent to 189.62 billion yuan, underpinned by coordinated efforts, its global market expansion, and industrial structure upgrade.

In the Jan-Feb period, the number of the city's import and export trading firms increased by 8.8 percent year on year, while its imports and exports with the Belt and Road partner countries climbed by 23.8 percent.

In the first two months of this year, Guangzhou exported 52.13 billion yuan worth of mechanical and electrical products, accounting for 42.4 percent of its total exports. Among them, the total export volume of the "new trio" -- electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and solar cells, went up by 13.7 percent.

XAG, a leading smart agriculture technology company based in Guagnzhou, launched new-generation agricultural drones that integrate four major functions of spraying, sowing, transportation, and aerial survey. They can meet the needs of agricultural scenarios in different countries and regions and have propped up the startup's rapid growth of foreign trade since the beginning of the year.

"We promote the model of agricultural drones plus agricultural supplies services to lower the threshold for users. So far, our unmanned agricultural equipment has been sold to more than 70 countries and regions around the world," said Tuo Hongyan, a public relations manager with XAG.
