Storyline

China has launched a new anti-graft operation codenamed "Sky Net" for 2025, aimed at apprehending corrupt fugitives who have absconded overseas, recovering embezzled assets and combating cross-border crimes of corruption.

The move was announced on Monday at a meeting of the Central Anti-Corruption Coordination Group.

The outlined plan is as follows:

The National Commission of Supervision will spearhead a targeted campaign to combat duty-related crimes, hunt down corrupt officials who have fled overseas, and retrieve assets they have stolen.

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) will launch a new edition of the "Fox Hunt" campaign to repatriate economic fugitives who have fled abroad.

The People's Bank of China -- China's central bank -- will team up with the MPS to address the covert transfer of embezzled assets abroad.

The Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security and the National Immigration Administration, will focus on managing the positions of "naked officials", or officials whose spouse and children have emigrated overseas, as well as addressing violations related to public servants traveling abroad for personal reasons.
