Three adorable baby golden snub-nosed monkeys made their debut at Zhouzhi National Natural Reserve in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
The newborn cubs were captured on film snuggling in their mothers' arms, looking around with curiosity. Their parents remain devoted to the cubs, staying close and attentive.
Zhouzhi National Nature Reserve, which straddles the north and south of the main ridge of the Qinling Mountains, is known as one of the areas with the largest population and the most concentrated distribution of golden snub-nosed monkeys in Qinling.
From March to May each year, the golden snub-nosed monkeys enter a peak birthing season as the mild climate and abundant food in spring provide favorable conditions for the healthy growth of monkey cubs.
As the ecological environment continues to improve in the Qinling Mountains, the population of wild golden snub-nosed monkeys has risen significantly to around 6,000 individuals, including around 1,500 ones in the Zhouzhi nature reserve.
Included in the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species, golden snub-nosed monkeys are mainly found in Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi provinces, as well as Shennongjia Nature Reserve in Hubei Province.
