The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command on Wednesday simulated an air strike on the "high value targets" of the Taiwan Island.
Code-named "Strait Thunder-2025A", the simulated strike was carried out by the theater command's air force unit in the middle and southern areas of the Taiwan Strait.
During the exercise, the air force unit dispatched echelons of fighters and bombers with the support of the joint early warning system, taking up strike positions in the middle and southern areas of the Strait.
Starting on Tuesday, the Eastern Theater Command has launched joint exercises around the Taiwan Island, organizing army, navy, air and rocket forces to close in on the island from multiple directions.
