China Media Group (CMG) launched a series of screenings featuring its premium films and television programs in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming state visit to Malaysia.

The event was inaugurated with video addresses by CMG President Shen Haixiong, and Wong Chun Wai, chairman of Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama). Both speakers underscored the enduring friendship between China and Malaysia, emphasizing the role of media in fostering mutual understanding and promoting cultural exchanges between the two nations.

A total of 10 premium programs produced by CMG will be broadcast on major media platforms in Malaysia, including Bernama, Asian Satellite Television and Radio, Al-Hijrah TV, and 8TV, through June.

These programs, which span genres from historical documentaries to aerial landscape series, will provide audiences with an in-depth look at China's development achievements, cultural heritage, and societal transformations.

Xi will pay a state visit to Vietnam from April 14 to 15, and will pay state visits to Malaysia and Cambodia from April 15 to 18, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Friday.
